Space Skirt

Originally a prototype skirt I made for myself, this space-themed skirt has quickly become one of my favorite things I’ve ever made!

This skirt was never meant to be a final draft, it was just supposed to be a trial run of a pattern idea that I was going to transfer to another fabric.

However, the skirt came out amazingly, and the other fabric I was going to use ended up not being enough, so this first draft ended up becoming a final draft as well.

This skirt is also one of the more Eco-friendly/sustainable items I’ve made, as it used to be a bed sheet.

Heather, a white person, is seen from the waist down, She is wearing a black skirt with light colored stars, moons, and galaxies on it. The skirt is hanging still, with the back of the skirt visible.

Fun Facts about this skirt:

  • The clasp on the back of the skirt is broken. This is due to the fabric being a little tender and ripping.
  • It has pockets big enough to hold a Nintendo Switch!
  • At one point I considered using glow-in-the-dark embroidery thread to make the pattern on the fabric stand out more.
